We’ve spoken about craft, scale, and cooperation with agents. But beneath all of this lies a deeper question: what is the soul of work? For centuries, humans have tied labor to meaning, identity, and community. In the age of AI, what happens when machines increasingly take on our tasks? Can work still be a source of dignity and fulfillment — or do we need to redefine its soul entirely?

In a future shaped by automation, what must we preserve to ensure work continues to carry dignity?

History has brought us to this threshold. The question now is whether we will cross it blindly, or whether we will walk with intention, carrying the soul of work forward into a future that still belongs to us.
