The Power of Thoughts and Beliefs
Nick Sasaki: Welcome, everyone. Today we’re diving into a profound discussion on the power of thoughts and beliefs. Pam, your work has centered around this idea that our thoughts create reality. Can you kick us off?
Pam Grout: Absolutely, Nick! My whole premise is that we are all creators, whether we realize it or not. Every thought we have, every belief we hold, is like an order we’re placing with the universe. I like to say the universe is like a giant catalog—you just put in your request, and it responds. But the challenge is most people are unaware of what they’re ‘ordering’ because they let their beliefs—especially limiting ones—run on autopilot. What I teach through my experiments is that when you consciously align your thoughts with what you want, rather than what you fear, you can literally change your reality. We are so much more powerful than we’ve been led to believe. Our beliefs are the foundational structure of our lives.
Nick Sasaki: Thank you, Pam. Esther, you’ve been teaching about the Law of Attraction for years. How does this align with what Pam is saying?
Esther Hicks (Abraham): Oh, it’s all very aligned! Abraham often talks about the vibrational frequency of thoughts. Every thought you think sends out a signal, and the universe responds to that signal with matching experiences. So, whether you're focusing on abundance or lack, love or fear, the universe doesn’t distinguish—it just matches the vibration. When you understand that, you realize how crucial it is to focus on what you want, not what you don’t want. Your beliefs act as powerful magnets. If you believe that life is hard, life will keep showing you evidence of that belief. But when you shift your belief to something more empowering, like “I’m always supported,” the universe will conspire to prove that true.
Nick Sasaki: That idea of focusing on what you want versus what you don’t want seems key. Dr. Joe, could you expand on the science behind this? How do thoughts influence our reality from a neurological standpoint?
Dr. Joe Dispenza: Absolutely, Nick. From a scientific perspective, every time you think a thought, your brain fires neurons in a specific pattern. Over time, repeated thoughts form neural pathways, and those pathways become your default mode of thinking. This is what I call the “neurochemical feedback loop”—your thoughts create feelings, those feelings generate more thoughts, and this loop becomes your identity. When you think thoughts of scarcity or limitation, you’re literally wiring your brain to expect more of the same. But when you consciously change your thoughts—when you start focusing on abundance, gratitude, or possibility—you can rewire those neural pathways. Neuroplasticity shows us that our brains are malleable and can change throughout our lives. By intentionally focusing your thoughts, you’re not just imagining a better future—you’re physically altering your brain to create that future.
Nick Sasaki: It’s incredible to think that we can physically change our brains with our thoughts. Bruce, you’ve spoken a lot about how our beliefs can even change our biology. How does this fit into the conversation?
Bruce Lipton: It’s a perfect fit, Nick. What I’ve discovered through my research in epigenetics is that our thoughts and beliefs control the biology of our cells. We used to think genes were the sole determinants of our fate—if a certain disease ran in your family, you were doomed to experience it. But what we now know is that genes are not your destiny. Your environment, including your mental environment—your thoughts, beliefs, and emotions—affect how your genes express themselves. For example, if you believe you’re prone to illness, your stress hormones will suppress your immune system, and you’re more likely to get sick. On the other hand, if you believe in your body’s ability to heal and thrive, you activate genes that promote health and well-being. This is why it’s so important to become conscious of what you’re thinking and believing—because you’re literally shaping your biology with those thoughts.
Nick Sasaki: That’s fascinating—how our beliefs not only shape our reality but also our biology. Pam, Esther, Joe, and Bruce, you’ve all brought unique perspectives to this idea that we are far more powerful than we often realize. It’s amazing to see how science, spirituality, and everyday experiences all converge on this truth. Thank you for sharing your insights on how the power of thoughts and beliefs can shape our world.
Gratitude and High Vibrational Energy
Nick Sasaki: Thanks for the incredible insights on thoughts and beliefs in our last topic. Now, let’s shift to another powerful concept: gratitude and high vibrational energy. Pam, in your work, you highlight how gratitude can be a game-changer. Could you start us off by explaining its role in manifestation?
Pam Grout: Gladly, Nick! Gratitude is one of the simplest, yet most powerful tools we have for raising our vibration. When you're in a state of gratitude, you're telling the universe, "I already have what I want. Life is good!" This mindset is a direct match to abundance. What most people don't realize is that when you’re focusing on what you don’t have, you’re vibrating at a lower frequency, which keeps the things you want out of reach. Gratitude flips that on its head. When you're thankful for what you have, no matter how small, you’re vibrating at a high frequency, and the universe matches that by bringing more things to be grateful for. It's like putting yourself in the perfect energetic state for receiving blessings.
Nick Sasaki: That makes sense, Pam. Wayne, you’ve often spoken about gratitude as well. How do you see it raising one's vibration and connecting with abundance?
Wayne Dyer: Pam is absolutely right, Nick. I always say, “When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” Gratitude shifts your entire perception. Rather than seeing life as a series of problems to solve, you begin to see it as a blessing. When you shift to this higher perspective, you enter into what I call "the flow of life." This is where miracles happen, and life begins to feel effortless. The truth is, we are all connected to the same source of unlimited abundance. When you're in a state of gratitude, you're acknowledging that connection. You're aligning with the divine energy that creates worlds. And in that alignment, you attract more of the same—more to be thankful for, more love, more abundance.
Nick Sasaki: Beautifully said, Wayne. Louise, you've been a strong advocate of affirmations and positive thinking. How does gratitude play into your work on self-healing and attracting positive energy?
Louise Hay: Thank you, Nick. Gratitude is central to everything I teach. In my experience, gratitude is the most powerful affirmation you can make. When you say "thank you," you're acknowledging that everything in your life is unfolding perfectly, even the challenges. I always tell people to keep a gratitude journal because it forces you to look for the good in every situation. And the more you focus on what’s good, the more good things you attract. Gratitude not only changes your mental state but also has profound effects on your physical body. When you are in a state of gratitude, your stress levels drop, your immune system strengthens, and your body moves into a state of healing. It’s all interconnected—mind, body, and spirit.
Nick Sasaki: So, gratitude not only shifts your energy but can also create physical and emotional healing. Rhonda, you’ve spoken extensively about how gratitude amplifies the Law of Attraction. How do you see it working with the principles of manifestation?
Rhonda Byrne: Gratitude is the secret ingredient to manifestation, Nick. In The Secret, I talk about the Law of Attraction being like a magnetic force that brings into your life whatever you focus on. Well, gratitude is like supercharging that magnet. When you focus on what you're grateful for, you're essentially telling the universe, "Yes, this is what I want. Give me more of this!" And the universe responds by giving you more of the same. But here’s the thing: Gratitude also helps you stay in a positive state of mind. When you're grateful, you can’t be in fear or lack at the same time. Gratitude shifts your energy so powerfully that it pulls you out of negativity and opens the door for more abundance to flow in. It's like the fast track to manifesting.
Nick Sasaki: That’s such a powerful insight—gratitude as a fast track to abundance. Pam, Wayne, Louise, and Rhonda, you’ve all shown how gratitude is not just a nice idea, but a practical tool for shifting your vibration, raising your energy, and attracting what you want into your life. Thank you for this enriching conversation on the transformative power of gratitude and high vibrational energy.
Faith, Trust, and Visualization
Nick Sasaki: Now that we’ve discussed the power of gratitude and energy, let’s move to another key element of manifestation: faith, trust, and visualization. Pam, in your work, you often emphasize how important it is to visualize what you want and trust that it’s on its way. Could you start us off with your thoughts on this?
Pam Grout: Absolutely, Nick. Visualization is one of the most powerful tools we have for creating our reality. But the key to effective visualization isn’t just seeing what you want in your mind—it’s feeling it as if it’s already here. When you visualize, you’re aligning your energy with the thing you desire, which sets the wheels in motion for the universe to deliver it. But here’s where faith and trust come in. You have to let go of how and when it’s going to happen. Trusting that the universe will handle the details allows you to stay in the high vibrational state necessary for manifestation. If you’re constantly worrying about when it’s coming, you’re in a state of lack. So, it’s about holding the vision and trusting that it’s already on its way, even when you can’t see it yet.
Nick Sasaki: That distinction—visualizing and then letting go—seems to be the challenging part for many people. Neville, your teachings have deeply influenced the practice of visualization. Can you elaborate on how faith plays a role in this process?
Neville Goddard: Certainly, Nick. Faith is the cornerstone of all manifestation. In my teachings, I often say, “Assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled.” This means when you visualize, you must not only see the desired outcome but also feel as though it has already happened. Faith is knowing, with absolute certainty, that what you desire is already yours in the unseen reality. The physical world is simply a reflection of your inner state. If you can hold the vision and trust that it’s already done, the external world will eventually catch up. The universe rearranges itself to reflect your belief. But you must persist in this assumption, even when external circumstances suggest otherwise. That’s where true faith comes in—maintaining your belief regardless of what’s happening around you.
Nick Sasaki: That’s such a powerful concept—living in the assumption that it’s already done. Kyle, you often talk about surrendering to the flow of life and trusting the process. How does that tie into visualization and faith?
Kyle Cease: It ties in perfectly, Nick. I like to think of visualization as a co-creation process with the universe. You set your intention by visualizing what you want, but then you have to get out of the way and let life bring it to you. The reason so many people struggle with manifestation is because they try to control every aspect of how their desire will come to them. That creates resistance. The key is to visualize what you want and then surrender to the flow of life. Trust that the universe knows the best path to bring it to you, often in ways you couldn’t even imagine. It’s like planting a seed—you don’t dig it up every day to check if it’s growing. You trust that it’s happening beneath the surface, even if you can’t see it yet. Visualization, combined with trust and surrender, creates a powerful synergy.
Nick Sasaki: That analogy of planting a seed really brings it home. Michael, your approach through meditation and visioning aligns closely with what Pam, Neville, and Kyle are saying. How does your spiritual perspective add to this conversation about faith and trust?
Michael Bernard Beckwith: Faith and trust are foundational to the practice of visioning, Nick. In visioning, we’re not just visualizing what we want but asking the universe—or the divine intelligence—what it wants to express through us. It’s about being open to possibilities beyond what our limited mind can conceive. When you’re in this state of openness, you trust that what’s unfolding is for your highest good, even if it doesn’t look like what you initially visualized. Faith is trusting that the universe knows more than we do and is always working on our behalf. It’s about holding a vision but not being attached to the outcome. Instead, you trust that whatever unfolds will be in alignment with your highest purpose. This level of trust requires a deep spiritual practice, but when you develop it, life becomes a flow of synchronicities and miracles.
Nick Sasaki: What an inspiring perspective, Michael. Pam, Neville, Kyle, and Michael, you’ve all given us a lot to think about when it comes to faith, trust, and visualization. It’s clear that holding the vision, feeling it as though it’s already real, and then trusting the universe to deliver in its own perfect timing are crucial elements of manifestation. Thank you all for sharing your wisdom on this topic.
Overcoming Doubt and Negative Energy
Nick Sasaki: We’ve touched on the power of thoughts, gratitude, and faith, but a common challenge people face in manifestation is overcoming doubt and negative energy. Pam, how do you address this in your work?
Pam Grout: Great question, Nick. Doubt is one of the biggest obstacles in the manifestation process because it lowers your vibration and creates resistance. If you’re doubting whether you can manifest something, you’re essentially telling the universe, “I don’t really believe this can happen.” That sends out a mixed signal, which the universe can’t respond to clearly. One of the best ways to combat doubt is by practicing gratitude and focusing on small successes. Every time you manifest something—no matter how small—celebrate it! The more you acknowledge that the universe is responding to your thoughts, the more you build trust in the process, and the less room there is for doubt. Another technique I recommend is reframing your thoughts. When doubt creeps in, instead of thinking “I can’t do this,” shift it to “What if I can?”
Nick Sasaki: That’s a practical way to shift energy. Gabby, you’ve helped many people work through doubt and realign with positive energy. How do you suggest people overcome doubt and step back into a state of trust?
Gabby Bernstein: Thanks, Nick. I think doubt comes from a place of fear—fear that things won’t work out, fear of failure, fear of the unknown. One of the most effective ways to overcome doubt is to reconnect with your spiritual faith, whatever that looks like for you. When I talk about surrendering, I mean handing over your fears to a higher power and trusting that everything is unfolding as it should. A mantra I often share is “The universe has my back.” It’s a reminder that we’re not alone in this process, and we don’t have to control everything. Another key is to catch your doubtful thoughts as they arise and replace them with positive affirmations. The more you consciously redirect your focus, the less power doubt has over you. And just like Pam said, gratitude is essential—it keeps you grounded in the present and out of fear.
Nick Sasaki: So, a blend of surrender and actively redirecting thoughts seems to be a strong approach. Byron, your method, known as "The Work," is designed to help people question and dissolve negative beliefs. Can you share how it can be used to overcome doubt and negativity?
Byron Katie: Absolutely, Nick. Doubt is really just a thought, and like any thought, it’s not inherently true. With The Work, we start by asking, “Is this thought true?” For example, if you’re thinking, “I’ll never achieve my goals,” we question that. Is it absolutely true that you’ll never achieve them? Probably not. Then we ask, “How do I react when I believe that thought?” Most people feel anxious, defeated, or stuck when they believe thoughts of doubt. Finally, we turn the thought around: “What if I can achieve my goals?” When you practice turning around your negative beliefs, you start to see that they’re just stories you’ve been telling yourself. They’re not facts. This process dissolves the power of doubt and opens the door to new possibilities.
Nick Sasaki: That’s such a powerful way to deconstruct negative thoughts. Marianne, you often talk about overcoming fear, which is closely linked to doubt. How can people release the grip of fear and step into a more positive energy space?
Marianne Williamson: Fear and doubt are two sides of the same coin, Nick. Both stem from the belief that we are separate from the divine source of love and abundance. The antidote to fear and doubt is love. When you recognize that you are connected to the infinite power of the universe, you realize that there’s nothing to fear. One of my favorite teachings is from A Course in Miracles, which states, “Only love is real.” When we operate from a place of love, doubt naturally falls away because we’re no longer questioning our worth or our ability to manifest. We begin to trust that the universe is a loving force that’s always working in our favor. To overcome doubt, I encourage people to engage in practices that reconnect them to this truth—whether that’s meditation, prayer, or acts of kindness. The more love you give, the more love you receive, and that love leaves no room for doubt.
Nick Sasaki: Thank you, Marianne. Pam, Gabby, Byron, and Marianne, you’ve given us so much to think about when it comes to overcoming doubt and negative energy. It’s clear that the key is to become conscious of our doubtful thoughts, question them, and replace them with love, gratitude, and trust. Each of you has shared unique insights into how we can shift from fear and doubt into a state of positive energy and possibility.
Connection and the Collective Consciousness
Nick Sasaki: For our final topic today, we’re exploring a fascinating and expansive idea—our connection to the collective consciousness. Pam, your work often touches on the idea that we’re all connected, and our individual thoughts influence the world around us. Could you start us off by explaining how you see this concept playing out in everyday life?
Pam Grout: Absolutely, Nick. One of the most powerful realizations you can have is that you’re not separate from the world or from other people. Every thought, every belief you hold sends out ripples into the collective consciousness. We like to think of our minds as private spaces, but the truth is, they’re not. We’re all contributing to the collective energy of the planet. If you’re holding thoughts of love, joy, and abundance, you’re not only raising your own vibration, but you’re also contributing to the collective well-being of the world. On the flip side, if you’re stuck in fear or anger, you’re adding that to the collective energy. It’s a reminder that we all have a responsibility—not just to ourselves, but to everyone—to be conscious of the energy we’re putting out into the world. Our connection to the collective consciousness means that when we change ourselves, we change the world.
Nick Sasaki: That’s a powerful perspective, Pam. Deepak, you’ve spent years exploring the idea of collective consciousness and how it influences reality. How do you see individual and collective consciousness interacting?
Deepak Chopra: Thank you, Nick. Pam’s point is absolutely spot on. The individual mind is not separate from the collective. In fact, the idea of a separate self is an illusion. What we perceive as "individual consciousness" is actually just a wave in the vast ocean of universal consciousness. Every thought, every action we take, influences not only our personal reality but also the collective reality. When you meditate, for example, you’re not just calming your own mind—you’re contributing to the peace of the entire planet. Studies have shown that when groups of people meditate together, crime rates in the surrounding areas decrease. This is because the collective consciousness is impacted by the elevated state of individual minds. The more people who operate from a state of peace, love, and compassion, the more the collective consciousness will reflect those qualities.
Nick Sasaki: That’s incredible—the idea that individual practices like meditation can have a measurable impact on the collective. Barbara, your work with the Pleiadians emphasizes the importance of this collective shift. Could you share how you see humanity’s collective consciousness evolving?
Barbara Marciniak: Absolutely, Nick. From the perspective of the Pleiadians, humanity is at a crucial point in its evolution. We’re moving from a state of separation and fear into one of unity and higher consciousness. But this shift is not something that will happen to us—it’s something we must actively participate in. Each person has a role to play in raising the frequency of the planet. The Pleiadians teach that our collective consciousness is like a massive tapestry, with each of us contributing a thread. When enough people raise their consciousness, the entire tapestry shifts. This is why it’s so important to focus on love, unity, and higher vibrations in your everyday life. You’re not just changing your own experience—you’re actively participating in the transformation of humanity.
Nick Sasaki: That’s a profound way to look at it, Barbara. Carla, your work with "The Law of One" also emphasizes our unity and connection through collective consciousness. Could you explain how this concept fits into the bigger picture of spiritual evolution?
Carla Rueckert: Certainly, Nick. The Law of One teaches that all is one—there is no separation between individuals, between humanity and the universe, or even between time and space. Everything is connected in a grand design of unity. From this perspective, what we do, think, and feel not only affects our personal experience but also contributes to the collective evolution of the planet. Our collective consciousness is on a journey through various stages of density, moving toward unity with the Creator. The higher we raise our individual vibrations through love, compassion, and understanding, the more we assist in the collective shift toward higher densities. This is why every act of kindness, every loving thought, is so important—it ripples out into the collective consciousness, helping all of us evolve together. We’re not separate beings; we’re all part of the same universal soul.
Nick Sasaki: That’s such an inspiring way to close our discussion—recognizing that we’re all part of the same universal soul and that our individual actions have a profound impact on the collective. Pam, Deepak, Barbara, and Carla, thank you for sharing your deep wisdom on the interconnectedness of consciousness. It’s clear that when we raise our own vibrations and align with love and unity, we not only transform ourselves but also contribute to the collective evolution of humanity.
