Attack on Titan Paths: Eren’s Last Meetings Revealed

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The Paths were silent, as they always were — no wind, no heartbeat, no sound but the faint hum beneath the pale sand. Eren stood barefoot, the cold not touching him, the horizon stretching forever in every direction.

Eren (thoughts):
"This place… I’ve been here so many times, but it’s never been like this. It’s not Ymir calling me, not the Titans, not the chains of our blood. It’s me. I came here on my own."

He looked behind him toward the colossal tree, its roots glowing faintly like veins of light in the ground. Ahead, faint shadows began to form — familiar figures waiting in the endless white.

Eren (voice soft, steady):
“I don’t know how much time I have left before it all ends. Maybe no time at all. But before I go… there are things I have to say. To each of you. Even if the words don’t change anything.”

His jaw tightened, but his eyes stayed clear.
“This isn’t about making peace. It’s about… making sure nothing was left unsaid.”

One by one, the shadows began to take shape. Levi. Jean. Connie. Historia. Hange. Sasha. Reiner. Annie. And at the end of the line — Ymir.

Eren took a breath and stepped forward.

(Note: This is an imaginary conversation, a creative exploration of an idea, and not a real speech or event.)

Final Thoughts

1. Levi — The Battlefield

The sand shifted beneath his feet, and suddenly the landscape was a battlefield. Broken blades, fallen flags, Survey Corps insignia half-buried in the dirt. Smoke curled in the air, though no fires burned.

Levi stood among the wreckage, coat torn but posture unshaken. His eyes followed Eren with the calm weight of someone who’d already seen too many endings.

Levi:
“You’ve made your choice.”

Eren:
“I have.”

Levi’s gaze swept the ruins around them.
Levi:
“Funny thing about choices… The right ones never feel right until after they’ve already cost you everything.”

Eren:
“I know. And I’m fine with that cost.”

Levi stepped closer, voice low but cutting.
Levi:
“Just remember — dying for something doesn’t make you right. You’ll never get to see if what you bought was worth the price.”

Eren didn’t reply. Their eyes met for a long moment — mutual respect buried under layers of unspoken exhaustion — and then the battlefield dissolved back into sand.

2. Jean — The Ruined Streets of Trost

The air shifted, carrying the acrid tang of smoke. Eren now stood in the crumbling streets of Trost, fires smoldering in the distance.

Jean leaned against a cracked wall, arms crossed, watching him approach.

Jean:
“Of all the ways you could’ve gone out… you had to pick the one that makes the rest of us clean up after you.”

Eren:
“Guess some things never change.”

Jean’s brow furrowed, but his voice softened.
Jean:
“You’re still the same stubborn idiot I knew at fifteen. And damn it, you’re still the guy I’d want beside me in a fight.”

Eren:
“Then why do I feel like we were always fighting each other instead?”

Jean smirked faintly.
Jean:
“Because we’re too alike. And neither of us ever liked looking in the mirror.”

The tension broke just enough for a ghost of a smile. Then the fires dimmed, the walls faded, and the sand returned.

3. Connie — The Empty Barracks

Rows of empty bunks stretched into darkness. The faint smell of wood and linen hung in the still air.

Connie sat hunched forward on one bed, hands dangling between his knees. He didn’t look up until Eren stopped in front of him.

Connie:
“I kept thinking you’d come back to us. Not like this. Not in pieces.”

Eren:
“I never wanted to be the one who left you behind.”

Connie:
“Then why? Why not trust us to find another way?”

Eren’s voice was quiet but firm.
Eren:
“Because if I didn’t act… none of you would’ve been left to remember me at all.”

Connie’s jaw worked, his eyes bright but unshed tears held stubbornly in place.
Connie:
“You’re still my friend, Eren. Even if I don’t know who you are anymore.”

The barracks dimmed, and sand swallowed the beds.

4. Historia — The Wheat Fields

Golden wheat swayed under an unmoving sky. A farmhouse sat solitary in the distance. Historia stood at the edge of the field, fingertips brushing the grain.

Historia:
“You and I… we were always playing roles someone else gave us.”

Eren:
“Yeah. And in the end, I couldn’t step off the stage.”

She studied him for a moment, her voice steady.
Historia:
“I think I understand. You carried your role to the end so I could lay mine down.”

Eren glanced toward the farmhouse.
Eren:
“You deserve to live without someone telling you what you’re worth.”

Her lips curved in the faintest of smiles.
Historia:
“And you deserve to rest, Eren. Even if it’s not in this world.”

The wheat bent in a silent wind, and the field dissolved into the white expanse.

5. Hange — The Wall That Never Falls

A high wall rose before him, stretching endlessly in both directions. Hange sat on the ledge, legs swinging, glasses catching the strange light.

Hange:
“You always thought too big. Big dreams, big risks, big messes.”

Eren:
“And you loved every second of it.”

Hange grinned, leaning back.
Hange:
“Someone had to. You kept the rest of us from thinking too small.”

Their smile softened.
Hange:
“You’re about to become history, Eren. Make it worth reading.”

The wall cracked, light spilling through, and the scene melted back to sand.

6. Sasha — The Picnic Table

Sunlight — warm, golden — flooded a meadow that could never exist in the Paths. Sasha sat at a wooden table piled high with bread, meat, and steaming bowls.

Sasha:
“Sit, eat! It’s been too long.”

Eren sat, picking up a piece of bread. It was warm, fragrant, impossibly real.

Eren:
“I wish I could stay here.”

Sasha grinned through a mouthful of food.
Sasha:
“Then you’d miss the ending. And I’ve been waiting to see it.”

Her laughter lingered as the meadow dissolved into pale sand.

7. Reiner — The Ruined Street in Marley

Smoke curled from shattered buildings. Reiner stood in the center, armor half-formed, face drawn.

Reiner:
“We were both weapons. The only difference is who we pointed at.”

Eren:
“And neither of us walked away clean.”

Reiner’s eyes were heavy.
Reiner:
“Maybe… in another life… we could’ve fought on the same side without hating ourselves for it.”

Eren:
“Maybe.”

The smoke thinned, and the streets faded away.

8. Annie — The Frozen Lake

A vast frozen lake stretched beneath a pale, sunless sky. The ice creaked faintly beneath their boots.

Annie:
“I always thought we were enemies.”

Eren:
“We were. And we weren’t.”

Annie’s gaze lingered, sharp but softer than it used to be.
Annie:
“If things were different…”

Eren:
“They never were.”

Cracks spread across the ice, the surface breaking apart into shards that drifted away into sand.

9. Ymir Fritz — The Roots of the Tree

At last, the colossal tree rose before him. Its roots sprawled endlessly across the sand, glowing faintly.

Ymir stood there barefoot, her gaze ancient and unreadable. For a long time, neither spoke.

Finally, she stepped forward, placing her palm against his chest.
Ymir:
“It always ends the same. But you… you carried it farther than most.”

Eren:
“Then I guess it’s time.”

The tree’s light swelled, the sand dissolving into white.

Eren took one last step forward — and the Paths swallowed him whole.

Final Thoughts

The glow from the tree was fading now, the sand beneath him trembling as if it too knew the end had come. One by one, the figures were gone, dissolved back into the Paths, leaving only the pale horizon.

Eren stood still for a long time, his eyes fixed on the place each of them had been.

Eren (voice low):
“I didn’t come here looking for forgiveness. I didn’t come to be understood. I came because… before the end, I wanted to carry all of you with me. Every word, every face, every moment we ever shared — even the ones soaked in blood.”

He glanced toward the colossal tree one last time.
“Some of you will curse my name. Some will mourn it. Maybe someday, you’ll forget it. But the truth is… I’ll remember you, even after there’s nothing left of me to remember.”

The light around the tree swelled, washing over the sand, swallowing the horizon.

Eren (whispering):
“I’m ready.”

The Paths dissolved into white.
